Challenge

Not enough people in our community read books as especially those in remote areas have limited access to libraries.

 

Aim

To promote reading habits to the younger generation and create more readers in the community.

 

The benefits of the program

The more we read the more we learn. 

In Cambodia the ability to read is a crucial skill for the students to create a better life for themselves, their family, their community and the future of Cambodia. It opens doors to knowledge and personal growth. However, for many Cambodians, especially those in remote areas, access to libraries and books remains limited.

This challenge inhibits the development of a vital habit – reading.

To this, reading english books is especially beneficial, improving their english proficiency which enhances their communication skills, expands their educational opportunities and advances their career opportunities - leading to overall more prosperity. Moreover, English literature and media offer insights into diverse cultures and perspectives. Reading in English can broaden one's understanding of the world

 

Main Activities

  • During school hours - students have full access to the library inclouding a safe and calm enviroment with books and other sources of information. 
  • Advise and encourage students to read more
  • Activly evaluate the students reading-progress
  • Storytime
  • Learn Vocabulary game
  • Participating in group discussions
  • Read from home
