VBCCC English Program

The Challenge

English is now the most widely spoken language in the world. It is the key to many things: daily communication, higher education, good job opportunities, and access to knowledge on the internet.

In Cambodia, especially in areas like tourism, business, and education, speaking English can completely change a young person’s future. Unfortunately, children in rural villages rarely have the chance to study English at their local schools. This creates a serious barrier. Without English skills, many children cannot continue to higher education, compete for good jobs, or support their families. Instead, they remain trapped in the cycle of poverty.

Our Aim

At the Volunteer Building Cambodia Community Centre (VBCCC), we want to break this cycle. Our goal is to give children in rural areas the chance to learn English in a way that is fun, practical, and life-changing.

We aim to help them:

  • Communicate with confidence in daily life and in the future workplace

  • Gain skills that lead to better jobs in tourism, business, and other sectors

  • Open doors to more education opportunities, including university studies

  • Break the cycle of poverty through the power of knowledge and skills

Benefits of the Program

Our English Program is not just about learning words and grammar—it’s about building confidence, preparing for real-life situations, and giving children the tools they need to succeed.

We use a carefully designed curriculum, modern teaching methods, and creative learning materials to make classes enjoyable and effective. Students learn through speaking, listening, reading, and writing while also practicing teamwork, problem-solving, and self-expression.

Through this program, children and teenagers in our community:

  • Gain strong English communication skills

  • Build self-confidence and motivation

  • Develop teamwork and social skills through group activities

  • Improve their chances for education, jobs, and brighter futures

Why This Program Matters

This program is more than learning a new language—it is about changing lives. English opens the door to new opportunities, better jobs, and higher education. For many children, it also means hope: the hope of a brighter future where they can support their families, dream bigger, and break free from poverty.

At VBCCC, we believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and succeed. The English Program is one of the strongest ways we can make that possible.
