VBCCC Computer Program

The Challenge

In Cambodia, many children attending public primary schools have little to no access to computers. This creates a major gap for the younger generation. In today’s world, technology is everywhere — it shapes how we learn, work, and communicate. Without basic computer skills, children are left behind, unable to keep up with school requirements, job opportunities, or even simple daily tasks that require digital knowledge.

For rural communities, this digital gap is even greater. Without access to technology, children cannot fully develop critical thinking skills, creativity, or problem-solving abilities. This lack of opportunity not only limits their personal futures but also slows down the growth of the entire community.

Our Aim

At the Volunteer Building Cambodia Community Centre (VBCCC), our aim is to close this gap by giving children and teenagers access to practical, hands-on computer education.

We want to ensure that every student:

  • Learns basic computer operations with confidence
  • Gains typing skills that make schoolwork and future jobs easier
  • Understands and practices using Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Builds the foundation for further digital learning and better job opportunities

Benefits of the Program

Computer literacy is no longer optional — it is essential. Students who gain these skills are better prepared to excel in their studies, meet future job requirements, and adapt to a fast-changing digital world.

The benefits of our program include:

  • Improved school performance by using technology for research, projects, and presentations
  • Increased employability in fields like tourism, business, and administration where computer skills are required
  • Boosted confidence in problem-solving and independent learning
  • Expanded creativity by learning beyond books and verbal communication

By equipping children with computer literacy, VBCCC is helping to break the cycle of poverty and preparing the next generation for a brighter, more connected future.
