Why do we need volunteers?
Volunteer Building Cambodia Community Centre (VBCCC) is a very special place for many reasons. Our wish Education is the key better futures extends to all parts of our work, including our staff, who are all Cambodian. We also want our staff to learn new skills and increase their ability, confidence, and self-worth so that they can better serve the people we are trying to help in our community.
What can I do?
There are many different ways volunteers can offer their help in Volunteer Building Cambodia or can Volunteer with Volunteer Building Cambodia work as house build toilet build. (It may also be possible to combine activities; please ask us about this if you are interested).
Are there age limits?
Individual volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Younger children may be accepted when families volunteer. Children under 16 usually find the physical aspects of our building work too strenuous.
How safe is it to volunteer in Cambodia?
Cambodia is considered a safe country for tourists. However, as with all travel you should always be cautious and use your common sense. Travel insurance is essential if you volunteer with Volunteer Building Cambodia Community Centre.
What else do I need to know?
- Volunteers are responsible for their cost of travel to Cambodia and within Cambodia. Volunteer Building Cambodia Community Centre will provide transport to the Community Centre site.
- Volunteers must organize their own visa.
- Volunteers must have valid travel insurance.
- You will be responsible for organizing your own lunch and dinner every day.
How can I help from afar?
- You don’t need to come and work with Volunteer Building Cambodia Community Centre. Many people and organizations support VBCCC from their own countries in a variety of ways.
- Make a cash donation
- Hold a fundraising event of your own or with your friends or colleagues
- Spread the word about VBCCC and our programs.
- Donate essential programs like the English program, Computer grogram, Hygiene program, and Library program (check with our team and we can tell you what is most needed at the time).
